Art pieces are instrument of high profile investments these days. Many corporate entities all over the world have made rich collection of art work in last decade. Such investments have earned big money during auctions. First is the beautiful “Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer” by Gustav Klimt $135 million, painted in 1907 shows a European lady cladded in gown with many eye shaped prints with long lined Chunri having block prints. Yellow is the dominant colour amongst few colours used.

“Garçon à la Pipe” multicolored oil on canvas work by Pablo Picasso had earned $104 million. It had shown use of orange and pink color. The blue dressed boy in sitting posture is holding pipe in left hand and is garlanded on the head. The face of boy is also inclined in left side. Next valued artwork “Dora Maar with Cat” auctioned at $ 95 million is again from Picasso. Hands of Dora Maar, and his mistress, had been shown as bones. Left & right half of face is also deformed and different.

“Portrait of Dr. Gachet” by Vincent van Gogh`$82.5 million is next high valued art piece in line.

Dr. Gatchet had been shown thinking in deepest thoughts, while leaning on table. Facial expressions are giving a live effect. Saito, the Japanese buyer was so much in love with the work that he wanted to get buried along with it, whenever he dies.

Pierre-Auguste Renoir painting titled “Bal Au Moulin de la Galette” is next high valued work with $78 million consideration. The painting shows couples dancing and teenagers enjoying in an open sky party. The postures and expressions are extremely clear and very lively. Aspect ratio is also surprisingly maintained.

$ 7.6 million auctioned “Massacre of the Innocents” work by Peter Paul Rubens shows babies being brutally killed by naked men by stabbing and hitting against floor. It also brushes ladies pleading for stopping atrocities on babies. Body parts of each human being shown are beautifully drawn. “Portrait de l'Artiste sans Barbe” by Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh earned $71.5 million, which shows his self portrait without beard. The wrinkles and lines on the face and neck justify his ageing appearance and thought process. “Rideau, Cruchon et Compotier” created by Paul Cézanne was sold at $60.5 million. It is one of the beautiful still live works by artist. Climax of intensities of many colours have been used.

Pablo Picasso’s famous blue period work “Femme aux Bras Croisés” sold at $ 55 million uses only three colours example blue, white & black. Various tones of blue have been beautifully used. Drawn woman has been shown gazing in dead end with lively eyes. “Irises” by Vincent Van Gogh $53.9 is last in the countdown of top ten highest valued painting of the decade. It is multicolored painting with varying intensity & tones of colours. Ground has also been shown with bright colour.

These paintings have lot of variations with respect to themes & choice of colours. Number of colours used is also varying from three to multicolour. Intensity, brightness and tones of colours have also touched the both extremes. Art works getting high value in the auction or sale is dependant on the visual effects of that painting not the theme. Extremely simple looking work may also earn big money in the art market.
